The Ebonyi State Police Government has confirmed the arrest of one Maduabuchi Chimobi Ebe in connection with the recent killings in Ebonyi State allegedly by herdsmen.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the command, DSP Ukandu Joshua, confirmed the arrest in a phone interview with MyNigeria.
MyNigeria learnt that suspected herdsmen attacked Amegu village, Nkalaha community in the Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, killing several residents and setting houses ablaze.
Reports have it that the attack was a reprisal for the alleged killing of cattle belonging to the herdsmen, despite denials from the community.
Confirming the arrest of one suspect, Joshua said, "Yes, one Maduabuchi Chimobi Ebe has been arrested. The arrest led to the recovery of Dane guns and other weapons."
Joshua also stated that the police are working towards arresting others who may be connected to the attack that led to the death of
"We are not resting on this one," he added.
