A return to the Sky Bet Championship is looking more likely for Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho.
Emerging reports indicate that the 28-year-old is set to undergo medicals at Middlesbrough ahead of his transfer.
The Sky Bet Championship outfit has reportedly agreed to a six-month loan deal with Sevilla for the Super Eagles forward.
The Teessiders are expected to pay a higher percentage of Iheanacho’s wage, and discussions are underway about whether a clause for a permanent transfer will be included as part of the deal.
The 28-year-old has endured a difficult start at Sevilla since joining the club as a free agent in the summer.
Iheanacho has managed just nine La Liga appearances since joining the Rojiblancos as a free agent in the summer.
He has also made two appearances in the Copa del Rey, scoring three times in the Spanish King's Cup.
Iheanacho played in the Championship last season, where he helped Leicester City win the second-tier English league and secure qualification to the Premiership.
