Adamu Garba links USAID to #EndSARS, supports its scrapping

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has said the scrapping of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) would "bring unprecedented peace and stability to Africa."

USAID has come under intense criticism after a dispute between the agency and a government task force escalated when two security officials were placed on leave for denying access to representatives from the Department of Government Efficiency, a task force led by Elon Musk.

Musk, via his social media platform X on Sunday, openly criticised USAID, calling it a “criminal organisation” and stating, “Time for it to die.”

This led to calls for the scrapping of the agency, from many who have linked it to many alleged crises around the world.

One such call came from Garba who linked USAID operations to the #EndSARS protest of October 2020 in Nigeria.

He added, "With this massive expose of the USAID activities around the globe, there is no gain saying that the #Endsars protest in 2020 was a direct handiwork of the USAID operation. God always comes through for Nigeria."

In another post, he said, "Boko Haram, ISWAP, IGIS, JNIM and all Army Special Operations forces conducting unconventional warfare in African Territory will soon run out of arms and ammunition and reconnaissance support.

"The governors of Northern Nigeria must take urgent steps to dismantle all the operations of the NGOs and expel them from their states. Peace is on the horizon."
