There was rowdiness on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where the party held a Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting.
This was after security operatives tried to prevent former Youth Leader Sunday Ude-Okoye from participating.
A video of the incident showed some thugs disrupting the duty of the police officers mounted at the entrance of the venue.
The meeting was presided by PDP BoT Chairman and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara.
The atmosphere was tense, as the meeting entered a closed-door session shortly thereafter.
This happened amid crisis rocking the party, particularly concerning the National Secretary position.
Ude-Okoye was in 2023 nominated by the Southeast zone to replace Anyanwu as National Secretary.
This was after Anyanwu was chosen as the party’s candidate for the Imo State governorship election.
Ude-Okoye 's claim to the position was solidified on December 20, 2024, by an Appeal Court in Enugu.
However, last week, the Court of Appeal in Abuja issued a restraining order, directing Anyanwu to remain National Secretary until the Supreme Court resolves the appeal.
