The Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has stated that those who collect money from their pastors are reducing their blessings.

Ibiyeome mentioned that it is unscriptural and could hinder one’s prosperity. Speaking to his congregation, he explained that a person receives more blessings from God when giving to pastors instead of receiving from them.

“May I tell you one raw truth? It may be hard, but never collect money from a senior man of God. You are reducing your blessing,” he said.

Sharing his personal experience, Ibiyeomie revealed that despite facing challenges, he has never sought help from his spiritual mentor, Bishop David Oyedepo.

“I’ll be the last person to collect a dime from Oyedepo, not because challenges have not come. That’s not how it works,” he explained.

He called on his followers to embrace the principle of giving to senior pastors as a way of drawing virtue for advancement.

“There are senior men to me today, and I can sow into their lives. But I will not go and say, ‘Pastor Femi, can you please help me?’ It’s not scriptural. Don’t collect money from a senior man; you are reducing your prosperity. Sow into the senior man to draw virtue for the next level,” he added.

His comment attracted several reactions from Nigerians on social media

@debo_rev: While I do not encourage this, I also vehemently disagree with this. This assumption can not be substantiate by the scripture. There's no scripture that says a father can not help or sustain his son until he can stand on his own if need be. The scripture says and Abraham settled his sons.
And I hope he's not referring to the scripture that says, the "the less is blessed of the better" there is no part of that scripture that defines the blessings as not money or financial favour.

@talk2_joseph: Dont quote him out of context, he actually meant a Son to Father relationship, there is certain age you will reach, you are not expected to take money from your father(biological), you are to give him. Same thing applies to spiritual relationship. I rest my case.

didems_barbie: Jesus feed multiple people without collecting money from anyone

chris__jnr: Even Jesus gave …. He didn’t look to collect …. Never did

joshuaemmanueluchenna: Since I moved to Canada, I have never missed church. I go white church, I have never heard money in church. The preaching is all about the love of Christ and what he did on the cross.
Why is Nigerian churches all about money money money
