Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have neutralized the kidnappers who abducted Sikirat Odumosu, the wife of a former Assistant Inspector General, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.
This was disclosed in a terse statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday.
Adejobi revealed that the operatives recovered ransom money from the kidnappers who abducted Mrs Odumosu while entering her residence at about 9pm at Orange Estate in the Arepo area of Ogun State on January 16.
Eyewitnesses said assailants forced her out of her Lexus SUV and whisked her away from Arepo, a border community to Lagos.
Following the successful operation against the kidnappers, Adejobi revealed that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, commended the operatives and the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job.
The force spokesman, however, failed to state the identity of the kidnappers, neither did he reveal where they were found and neutralized.
