Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has expressed his delight with his side's win over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday, January 19.

The Tricky Trees beat the Saints 3-2 at the City Ground to go level on points with Arsenal in second place.

Nottingham Forest sits in third place in the Premier League with 44 points, but with an inferior goal difference to Mikel Arteta's side.

Aina, who has been Forest's most consistent player this season, bagged his first assist of the campaign by setting up Chris Wood for their third goal.

The Super Eagles defender, in a post-match reaction, stated that the team is happy with the victory and personally pleased with the assist to Chris Wood.

“We are buzzing. Just happy to get the win today,” Aina told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“We are working hard every week. It is showing on the pitch, and to be up there with some of the big boys is a credit to us. We will keep going and take every week as it comes.

“Everyone is doing their part to reach our goals. Happy to get an assist for Chris Wood – he keeps scoring, that guy.”

Aina has managed two goals in the Premier League this season and has featured in all 22 Premier League matches for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
