The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has said contrary to social media reports, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is not missing in the 2025 budget.
According to the former governor of Ebonyi State, misunderstanding arose from an error in the budget where the portion regarding the road was labeled as Lagos-Port Harcourt Coastal Highway instead of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
Umahi made this known while fielding questions from journalists during an inspection tour.
He said, "I have read on social media where people said the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is missing in our budget. I think there was a little error.
"What you have in the budget is Lagos-Port Harcourt Coastal Highway. It is supposed to be Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
"We are interfacing with the committee chairman to correct it."
The minister also dismissed rumours that the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos is shaking and should be avoided.
"We have directed the controller for works to take journalists and go through the two carriage ways of the Third Mainland Bridge.
"We have done that and uploaded information that there is nothing wrong with the bridge," he said.
He concluded by assuring the public that there is nothing to worry about concerning the bridge.
