dura Aloba has denied sending any video to Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi about the death of his elder brother, singer Imole Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Aloba made this known at a press conference where Yomi Fabiyi accused him of reaching out to him via social media with information on what may have led to Mohbad's death.

Recall that Mohbad died controversially on September 12, 2023, after a short lived musical career, with autopsy report unable to determine the cause of his death.

According to Mohbad's family lawyer, Wahab Shittu, the autopsy was not successful because the singer's corpse ought to have been exhumed within 12 hours after it was buried.

Shittu said that was the information he got from Mr Sunday Osiyemi, a pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

However, several arrests have been made including that of a nurse who is said to have administered treatment to the singer in his residence before he died.

Amid the controversy and ongoing police investigation, Yomi Fabiyi held a press conference this week alleging that Aloba reached out to him demanding N3 million to supply a video detailing how Mohbad was murdered.

He said, "At about 4:23pm, Adura Aloba, Mohbad’s younger brother, sent me a DM after listening to me (online) for a while and reacting in the comment section. When he realized I might not see the DM on time, he wrote in the comment section asking that I check my DM. Lo and behold, he offered to give me a video recording of a fight that ensued between the late singer Mohbad and his wife Cynthia. He demanded N3 million and went further to narrate how the violence between his brother resulted in Mohbad falling off the stairs and hitting his head on the floor, something that can equally be linked to the bent neck in the casket and so much blood a few people saw in the house after the singer passed.

"The conversation went on for a while with me playing along. I demanded proof of the video’s existence and he requested my email and shared a three-second partly censored image with me. When I downloaded it, I presumed there was a violent argument in the video in the background. I probed further for longer and uncensored images and the negotiation got stuck at that point."

Yomi Fabiyi said he immediately reached out to the police with the information he just received from Aloba and urged the force to arrest him and Mohbad's wife Cynthia for interrogation.

"I want to humbly request as follows, that the Nigeria Police as a matter of urgency invite Adura Aloba and Cynthia Wunmi Aloba (Mohbad’s wife) for a thorough investigation and of course, they should be arrested and placed as suspects in the ongoing homicide case and any other that traverses through their investigation. That Mrs Folashade, Mohbad’s aunty, should be invited to corroborate her statement of seeing a blanket soaked with blood when she accompanied her sister into Mohbad’s house," he said.

Reacting, Aloba stated that he was not the one that sent the video to Yomi Fabiyi neither did he chat with the actor on social media.

He said, "I don't have much to say because this case is in court already. I don't think I will be quite if I knew what led to my brother's death. Concerning this video, it is from three years ago. I was not the one that recorded the video but Mohbad himself who recorded it on a phone I sold to one Damola."
