Nigerian international Ola Aina produced a remarkable performance as Nottingham Forest held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in a highly entertaining Premier League clash on Tuesday night.
The Tricky Trees put in an incredible defensive display to keep Arne Slott's side at bay for most part of the game.
Forest's top scorer, Chris Wood, gave the home side the lead inside the opening eight minutes before Diogo Jota came off the bench to equalize for the Reds with his first touch in the 66th minute.
Liverpool went all out to chase the winner after the equalizer, but Nuno Espirito Santo's side were solid in defense as they nullified all the attacks from the Reds.
One such moment from the game was Ola Aina's brilliant block to deny Mohammed Salah the winner in the dying embers of the game.
Despite dominating the game, the Premier League leaders had to settle for a point at the City Ground.
Liverpool boss Arne Slott lauded the brilliant defensive performing from Nottingham Forest after the game.
“Their goalkeeper had to make a few incredible saves, but their defenders also made some good blocks with quite a few chances. They blocked almost every shot,” Slott said.
“I could not have asked for more. The second half was outstanding. There are not many teams that can create so many chances against an opponent so defensively strong. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a second.”
The Tricky Trees are the only side to defeat Liverpool in the Premier League this season, following their impressive 1-0 win away at Anfield.
