The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially unveiled Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.

The ceremony took place at the Media Conference Room of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The NFF’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee recommended Chelle for the vacant role during its meeting on January 2, 2025, in Abuja.

This recommendation was subsequently approved by the NFF Executive Committee on January 7, 2025.

The ex-Malian coach has become the 42nd substantive head coach of the Super Eagles, according to Daily Post.

The 47-year-old has been tasked with the arduous job of reviving the Super Eagles' 2026 World Cup campaign.

The Super Eagles are yet to win a game in the qualifiers after four matches and sit in 5th position in Group C.

Chelle will first take over the team when the World Cup qualifiers resume in March.
