A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, says he might be as "corrupt" as the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a video that has gone viral.

In an interview on News Night, an Arise Television program, Galadima accused the ruling party, of which he was a member, of corruption.

When asked by the host if he is also corrupt because he was part of that political stock, he responded, "Maybe."

"Who in the APC is not corrupt? Look at their cabinet," he said. However, when the host asked, "But you were coming from there, so you are corrupt?" he replied, "Maybe."

Galadima has over the years accused the ruling party of corruption, stressing that their mismanagement of the economy has led Nigeria to its current state.

With the 2027 presidential elections in sight, he also called out the administration for compromising other political parties.

Galadima claimed that Tinubu wants the opposition to align with his agenda so that there would be no candidate to challenge him in 2027.

He said: “We know that the current government in APC is sending emissaries to compromise leaders of political parties, offering tens of billions to these leaders.

“They are promising all political parties to align with the agenda of the present government so that in 2027, there will be no candidate.”

He urged Nigerians to ensure the integrity of elections.

“I’m extremely happy that, through the ballot box, Africans can change the government. All of us must stand up to ensure that what happens in our country is not for politicians alone,” he added.
