Ghana's Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has admitted defeat in the 2024 presidential elections.

Bawumia, who is the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), conceded to former President John Mahama at a press conference on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

The Vice President revealed that he had called the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Mahama, to congratulate him as the Electoral Commission collates and announces the final results.
