Manchester United's reported interest in Victor Osimhen has sparked widespread excitement among fans on social media.

Recent reports indicate that the Red Devils are considering a potential swap deal with Napoli involving Victor Osimhen and United's new signing Joshua Zirkzee.

Italian journalist Gerardo Fasano reports that Manchester United's new boss Reuben Amorim is keen on bringing the reigning African Footballer of the Year to Old Trafford to replace the struggling former Bologna striker.

“Manchester United is said to be on the trail of Victor Osimhen. I have been told that the English, through mister Amorim, could include the former Bologna striker Zirkzee in the negotiations for Osimhen,” Fasano told Area Napoli as quoted by The PUNCH.

The recent transfer developments regarding Osimhen have triggered jubilant reactions from fans on social media.

A fan, @groovymono, who revealed he had wanted Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres at United, called Osimhen his dream signing.

“I know I’ve been singing Gyokores praises lately, but Osimhen is and still remains my dream striker for Man United,” he wrote.

“Hojlund can become like Gyokores if he trains hard, plus they even have the same physical features. But you see Osimhen, he has no replica.”

@zadde_yo was hopeful about the transfer materializing, writing, “Osimhen to United, God make this a reality.”

Another supporter, @Qamarul_Mohd, simply stated, “Victor Osimhen should join Man United.”

Osimhen has been in brilliant form since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in early September.

The 25-year-old has registered eight goals and four assists in nine appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray this season.
