Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has made the final five-man shortlist for the 2024 African Footballer of the Year award.
However, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong missed out on the final shortlist after making the initial 10-man list.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the final nominees on Monday, November 18.
Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman was shortlisted alongside Simon Adingra (Cรดte d'Ivoire), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa).
Lookman has been tipped as the overwhelming favourite to succeed Victor Osimhen, who is the current holder of the award.
The 26-year-old was ranked 14th at the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony held last month. He was the only African to make the 30-man shortlist by France Football.
The 2024 CAF Awards will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16.
