Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, has officially assumed his position as the National Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

A video capturing the moment he arrived at his office has surfaced on social media, with some individuals sharing their opinions.

MC Oluomo, the former Chairperson of the Lagos State Chapter of the NURTW, was elected as the new National President of the union at the union’s zonal secretariat in Osogbo on Saturday. He ran unopposed in the election.

According to Punch Newspaper, delegates from four Southwest states - Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti - participated in the election.

The election took place during the union’s quadrennial delegate conference and was overseen by the acting National President of the union, Aliyu Issa-Ore.

Mr. Akinsanya's election follows several months after he was controversially removed from his chairmanship of the Lagos chapter of the union.

Since his successor, Mustapha Adekunle, also known as Sego, assumed the chairperson position, many of Mr. Akinsanya's former colleagues, such as Ganiyu Oyedepo, popularly known as Kok Zaria, have distanced themselves from him.
