Nigerian international Ademola Lookman starred as Atalanta thumped Napoli 3-0 in Serie A on Sunday, November 3.

The 27-year-old netted a brace to guide Gian Piero Gasperini's side to a remarkable win away at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, ending Napoli's ten-match unbeaten run.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or nominee opened the scoring early in the 10th minute with a superb volley before adding the second in the 31st minute.

Mateo Retegui added the third in stoppage time to seal a convincing victory for La Dea.

The Super Eagles star has so far registered 6 goals and 4 assists in 8 Serie A appearances in the current campaign. Lookman finished 14th at the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony held last week.

The former Leicester City loanee has been tipped as the overwhelming favourite for the 2024 African Footballer of the Year award, which will be held in Marrakech, Morocco next month.
