Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has announced the approval of a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state.
This decision aims to improve the welfare of public servants in response to the economic challenges facing the citizens.
The new minimum wage will take effect starting at the end of October. This information was shared by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing after the Executive Council meeting in Umuahia.
Kanu said: “The payment of the N70,000 minimum wage will commence in the next few days. The Governor has approved that."
