Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen remains a doubt for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers after sustaining an injury in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa on Saturday, September 28.
The 25-year-old reportedly sustained a hamstring injury and was substituted at halftime after scoring his first goals for his new side.
After recording three assists in his first three games for the Turkish champions, Osimhen broke his duck against Kasimpasa by scoring twice in the opening 28 minutes.
Osimhen’s injury has become a major headache for Eguavoen, who will soon announce his squad for the clash against Libya.
According to OwnGoalNigeria, the 59-year-old has identified Tolu Arokodare as a potential replacement for Osimhen in case he is not fit in time for the clash.
Arokodare has been in impressive form for Genk this season. The 23-year-old has netted six goals in nine appearances in the Jupiler Pro League.
