A coalition of youth in Plateau State have tabled their demands to Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The youths who were part of the #EndBadGovernance protest submitted their demands to Governor Muftwang to be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu.

Their demands include the reversal of petrol prices to N300 per litre by the federal government, an end to corruption and a reversal of the hike in electricity tariffs.

A representative of the group, Sam Ode stated that their demands required the input of the state government and the federal government.

Ode said: “For the federal government, we urge the president to end corruption, reverse the pump price of fuel to N300, and also reverse the hike in electricity tariffs.”

He added: “For the state government, we demand an immediate reduction in the cost of governance. We also request an explanation of how the various palliatives and funding from the federal government are being utilised.”

“We further call on the state government to implement the minimum wage recently signed into law by the president and to reduce the school fees of tertiary institutions.”

As young Nigerians nationwide took to the streets to draw attention to hunger in the country, several parts of Nigeria were thrown into chaos. The protest began on August 1.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian police reported that they had arrested over 90 demonstrators carrying Russian flags at the protest.
