The Nigeria Police Spokesperson, ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi has explained why the Nigerian police are corrupt.

In a tweet, an X user named @peter_eli7, demanded to know why the police force is corrupt.

He wrote, “Nigeria police are so corrupt why sir.”

In response, Adejobi said that the Nigerian Police Force is corrupt because the Nigerian society is also corrupt.

“Because our society is corrupt,” he replied.

Taking to the comment section to make his contribution, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe also said that the police of any society is a product of the society.

“The police of any society is the product of the society.”

Other Nigerians expressed disappointment at the ACP’s response to the question.

@MaryEkemezie: You can and should do better. You cannot justify your personnel being corrupt on the grounds that the society is corrupt. It is unbelievable that you have put this down in writing.
