Africa's wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that he has houses only in Lagos and Kano, his home state.

Dangote made this known at a media parley held at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

According to him, because he has no house in Abuja, the one he lives in when he goes to the city is rented.

Dangote further added that his commitment to Nigeria’s industrialization is the main reason he does not own houses outside the country.

His words: “The reason I don’t have a house in London or America is solely because I wanted to focus on industrialisation in Nigeria.

“I figured that if I had those houses, there would be one reason or another for me to visit those places, thereby causing distraction for me.

"I am very passionate about the Nigerian dream, and apart from my Lagos house, I also have one in my home state of Kano and a rented one in Abuja."

Forbes has listed Aliko Dangote as the richest man in Africa for more than ten years, and his current net worth is estimated to be over 13.1 billion dollars.
