A former Super Eagles player has confirmed Mikel Obi's account of the feud that existed between some figures in the team and Sunday Oliseh during his tenure as the head coach.

The player, who spoke anonymously, confirmed that Oliseh's behavior towards senior players like Mikel Obi and Vincent Enyeama created animosity in the dressing room.

"I agree with what Mikel said. That's what happened before my eyes and everyone at the training pitch that day. The disrespect he showed Mikel and Enyeama left all of us in disbelief. A new coach going against the senior players in the team will always be a shock," the player said as quoted by OwnGoalNigeria

The player recalled how Oliseh stripped Enyeama of the captain's armband, benched Mikel, and appointed a young Ahmed Musa as captain, causing chaos in the team.

"Everything was so unorganized during his short reign as coach. The incident made the camp toxic, and we didn't recover from it," the player concluded.
