Afrobeats star David Adeleke popularly known as Davido tied the knot with his wife Chioma Ejiofor in a luxurious wedding ceremony held in Lagos on Tuesday, June 25.
The event was attended by the elite members of the society, including politicians from various political parties.
Individuals from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party all came together to celebrate with Davido and Chioma.
For a moment there was unity, peace and happiness among these parties who were gathered in one room enjoying themselves.
Some of the notable guests included: Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke from the PDP, Abia State Governor Alex Otti from the LP, President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, among others.
Governors Abiodun, Sanwo-Olu and Adeleke were seen having a good time together at the wedding. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, and the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde were also in attendance.
The Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the monarch of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Saheed Elegushi, were also present at the wedding ceremony.
Davido and Chioma’s wedding also brought together staunch supporters of the various political parties under one roof, mingling and dancing with each other.
Entertainers who made an appearance included Don Jazzy, Ini Edo, PSquare, Zlatan Ibile, Patoranking, Obi Cubana, Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Osimhen, Pocolee, and the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, among others.
Show casing their culture, the couple wore matching burgundy Yoruba outfits for their first appearance.
For their second outfit, the couple wore a white regal Igbo attire before changing into a third dress, a red and white Igbo traditional ensemble.
After a successful marriage ceremony, Davido and Chioma jetted out of the country.
The singer is scheduled to perform at the 2024 BET Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
Davido was nominated in the Viewers’ Choice category for his contribution to Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’ which also featured another Nigerian singer, Lojay.
The event captivated the entire country and dominated social media. International celebrities extended their best wishes to the newlyweds. Rapper Nicki Minaj even paused during a stage performance to congratulate Davido and Chioma on their nuptials.
