Several reports have indicated that Nick Imudia, the Chief Executive Officer of D.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions, has committed suicide.

Imudia, the former CEO of one of Nigeria’s e-commerce giants, Konga, was found dead in his apartment.

News Central TV reports that Imudia reportedly killed himself on the night of Tuesday, June 25, after jumping from the balcony of his Lekki apartment. The report indicated that he spoke to his US-based brother to explain how his wealth should be distributed should anything happen to him.

According to the report, he reached out to his daughter, telling her he would always be there for her and that she needed to look in the sky to see him.

The news of his demise has left family, friends, and associates in shock.

The deceased hails from Ika South local government area of Delta State. The mother of his youngest daughter is reported to be from the same area.

The marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.

His death has been confirmed by state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin on Thursday, June 27.

“Yes, it is true. He committed the act on June 25,” Hundeyin said.
