Super Eagles star Chidera Ejuke is eager to make a comeback to the Nigerian national team after finalizing his transfer to La Liga outfit Sevilla.
The 26-year-old sealed a three-year deal with Rojiblancos on Monday, June 17, following the expiration of his contract with CSKA Moscow.
Ejuke, formerly of Gombe United, becomes the first Nigerian player to join the seven-time Europa League champions, following loan spells at Hertha Berlin and Royal Antwerp.
In response to his move to Sevilla, the Nigerian international expressed optimism about contributing to his new team.
"It is special to be the first Nigerian here. I feel good being part of this team and I am looking forward to seeing what I can contribute," he told the club's official website.
Ejuke also expressed his desire to return to international duty with Nigeria.
"I also hope to be able to return to Nigeria because it’s always nice to represent your country. I hope the time is right and I’m very excited."
Ejuke has won eight caps for Nigeria since making his debut in a friendly against Algeria in October 2020.
