A campaign video from 2023 has resurfaced, capturing President Bola Tinubu as he openly critiques his political adversaries, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, during his presidential campaign tour.

In the video, Tinubu addresses the crowd, questioning Atiku's repeated attempts at the presidency and suggesting that it might be time for him to step back from the race.

Tinubu's remarks on Peter Obi were centered around Obi's use of statistics and analysis in discussing the nation's state, which Tinubu found to be less than practical.

According to him, Obi seems to believe that statistics are what will feed the nation. But the complex arithmetic and economic theories he presents are not what will solve Nigeria's challenges.

He stated that Nigeria needs is a leader who is familiar with the path to progress, someone who will stay connected with the people and consult with them, listen and work closely with the people.

Tinubu is quoted as saying:


“As I stand before you, there are few of us running, one says he is Atiku, how many times has he been running? He is always on the run. When he is tired, tell him to go and sit down. Enough is enough.

"The other one, he thinks it is statistics we will eat. A lie of arithmetic no Indian can solve it. To mention his name is a disgrace to me. I won’t mention the name. wrong statistics, wrong arithmetic, warehouse economy. That is not what Nigeria needs.

"We need a man who knows the road; that is me.
I promise we won’t be far away from you. We will carry you along. We will consult with you regularly.

"Our brothers here, we will embrace them for the development of the area. Economic development for our youth. A renewed hope is here standing before you.”
