The Lagos State spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has cautioned Nigerians against provoking an armed individual.
He advised “woke Nigerians” to avoid challenging or attempting to disarm someone who is armed.
According to him, such actions never end well because once a shot is fired, it cannot be taken back, and a deceased person cannot be revived.
Taking to his Instagram page on Monday, May 6, 2024, Hundeyin wrote:
“Ladies and gentlemen, especially the woke generation, for your safety, please stop challenging/daring an armed person to shoot, asking an armed person, daringly, how many people he/she can kill or attempting to disarm an armed person.
“It never pans out well. Nowhere in the world does it. A shot once fired can never be retrieved. A life once lost can never be brought back.
“Remember, one with gun is majority.
“Note: This is not about armed police officers only. This is about any armed person, security forces, or criminals.”
Nigerians on social media in response tackled the police saying they were openly posting their threats, unprofessionalism and disdain for human life.
Hundeyin replied saying Nigerians should not misconstrue his message as a threat, as the police also fall victims.
