A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Binance Holding Limited executive, Tigran Gambaryan in Kuje prison in Abuja.
The judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, gave the order on Monday, April 8, 2024 after Gambaryan pleaded not guilty to the charges of money laundering levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
His case was adjourned till April 18 for a bail hearing as May 2 as been set to begin hearings on the substantive charge.
Recall that in March 2024, the federal government arrested Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, another Binance executive over allegations of being involved in money laundering and terrorism financing.
It was reported that although Gambaryan remained in custody, Anjarwalla, Binance’s Africa Regional Manager, escaped from custody in Abuja.
