Former Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly traveled out of Nigeria.
This comes shortly after he withdrew his interest in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's ministerial appointment.
According to Daily Trust, a source said El-Rufai was off to Europe, but will visit Egypt first.
A report by New Telegraph stated that prior to his travelling, El-rufai met with President Tinubu on Tuesday, August 8, at the presidential villa in Abuja but was kept private.
It was gathered that El-Rufai informed Tinubu that he was no longer interested in becoming a minister in his government but would contribute to Nigeria’s development as a private man.
Last week, the Nigerian Senate approved the appointment of 45 out of the 48 ministerial nominees submitted by President Tinubu.
However, El-rufai was not among the nominees screened. This led to a debate considering his close relationship with Tinubu.
Amid the ministerial appointment debate, a video surfaced of El-rufai bragging about how he fought late President Umar Musa Yar'adua to his grave and former President Goodluck Jonathan out of Aso Rock.
