Nigeria security operatives have intercepted an oil theft syndicate in the Oporoza area of Delta state, Arise Television reports on Monday.

Recall that in June, former militant leader Asari Dokubo had alleged that 99 per cent of the oil theft in the Niger Delta region is done by the Nigerian Army and Navy.

However, the Nigerian Army and Navy denied Dokubo’s claim as oil theft continues to occur in the region.

In the early part of 2023, a high level oil theft syndicacy was exposed and since then many are of the belief that nothing is being done to nip oil theft in the bud.
