Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has warned President Bola Tinubu of appointing immediate past governor, Nasir El-Rufai in his government.

He advised Tinubu to be careful of El-Rufai following a comment he made against Christians in the northwest state.

Recall that El-Rufai was alleged to have defended the decision to allow Muslims to take up some relevant positions in Kaduna state.

According to the former governor, Muslims played a major role in the victory of the All Progressives Congress APC.

Reacting to the comment, Primate Ayodele described El-Rufai's comment as careless and could ignite a religious war in the country.

The cleric slammed El-Rufai for being the person behind the Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2023 presidential election. Also accused him of being responsible for the religious crisis in Southern Kaduna.

Primate Ayodele cautioned President Tinubu avoid giving El-Rufai any appointment else the country may collapse.

His statement reads in part:

"El-Rufai should not be trusted. The election in Kaduna was rigged in his candidate’s favour and God will take it back from him."
