The former Lagos state Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been sworn-in as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The inauguration ceremony which was held at the Eagles Square in Abuja also marks the end of President Muhammadu Buhari's tenure as leader of Nigeria.
This comes two months after Tinubu was declared winner of the keenly contested February 25 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on March 1.
Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress won with 8,794,726 votes, defeating his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 6,984,520 votes, and Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi, who scored 6,101,533 votes.
This makes Tinubu the fifth democratically elected Nigerian President in the fourth Republic.
Although the oppositions are challenging the outcome of the 2023 presidential election, Bola Tinubu and his vice Kashim Shettima have being sworn-in as President and Vice President respectively.
Reaction to the inauguration ceremony, some Nigerians took to social media to congratulate Bola Tinubu on his successful inauguration.
Congratulations jagaban
