Mixed reactions trail Peter Obi's constant apology to aggrieved persons on social media.
This comes after the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party took to his Twitter page to apologise over his supporters online attacks.
It was reported that Obi's supporters took to social media to rain insults at the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye for urging Christians and Nigerians to pray for the incoming government and that God will support it and give it the grace to do the right thing.
Reacting to this, Peter Obi dissociated himself from the social media attacks and said persons responsible are not Obidients as his supporters are law abiding.
This would not be the first time he has taken to social media to apologise over insults leveled on certain personalities.
However, Senator Shehu Sani a known supporter of Peter Obi, took to his Twitter page to urge him to desist from his constant apology.
According to him, should he continue apologising and dissociating himself from whatever his supporters do, he will kill the fire they have for him.
He added that he sparked the fire and so he should learn to embrace whatever comes with courage.
Sani tweeted; "Asiwaju, Atiku & Buhari never denounce or apologise for whatever their supporters say or do.Peter keeps apologising & disassociating. If U keep moving on this apologetic path you will kill the libido of your movement. You sparked a fire, embrace the inferno with courage."
Some Obidients took to Shehu Sani's comment section to support him claim while others disagreed saying his actions are what make him different from the other candidates.
Below are some reactions;
I agree. I am tired of his apologies. Very tired of it. It’s becoming very annoying.

Thanks for reminding @PeterObi that he’s gradually putting out the fire of the #Obidients movement!
Supported! No more apology!

Well said but they will still find something wrong with this tweet and it’s expected. They refused to connect the dots

Peace is optional.
If they bring violence we are ready.
If they bring peace we will give peace.
We are responsible for our actions and inactions.
We ain't apologetic, if you mess up you go collect.
God bless you my senator make una help us tell am oh he should just focus on the court process and leave the street for us

@ShehuSani It's important to apologies especially if you're sure the person didn't say what he's being dragged for. You're part of those that dragged Pastor Adeboye for saying absolutely nothing, you're an elder and it's pertinent to seek the truth and hold on to the fact.

If he loses his supporter's he won't hv anyone to apologise to again..but one thing is sure we won't leave him but he needs to know when and how to defend us..we are doing all this for Nigeria not Peter..he needs to know this..apology is good and also harmful..do it with sense..

His name is Peter Gregory Obi not Asiwaju, Atiku or Buhari. He is a different breed.

Lol. Peter Obi is just remaining true to his nature which is what lit the fire you mistakenly think can be snuffed.

As far as the 2023 presidential election is concerned, we will stand with Peter Obi and Datti till the end.
You can bet, if you wish.
PS: I do not bet.
That's what makes the difference. Peter cares, and others don't. Meanwhile, the movement is even bigger than Peter himself.
