There is a sense of celebration for Labour Party (LP) activists across Nigeria with reports early this morning that their candidate was leading his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Lagos.
Tinubu, a two-term Lagos State governor was widely expected to win majority of votes in Nigeria's commercial capital but that is not the case as at this morning.
As at this morning, he is trailing Obi by by 32,657 votes.
While Mr Tinubu, has triumphed in 10 local government areas, polling a total of 416,431 so far, Mr Obi is ahead in only seven local governments, but is leading the tally with 449,088 votes.

Like him or not, you cannot deny the fact that Peter Obi did the politically impossible in Lagos since 1999. He defeated Tinubu himself at countless PUs and LGAs in Lagos. A “structureless “party for that matter. Thank you Peter Obi for this refreshing hope to Nigeria’s democracy pic.twitter.com/mM7xBnMJLc

Don’t be carried away by the results declaring that Peter Obi is leading Tinubu in southern states like Lagos. Please look at the margins. Their plan is to reduce d margin

We need to hav the right margins to stay on top when it’s time for summation. Our mandate must be protected
Despite all their tipex, rigging, harassments, intimidations & wanton attacks, we are still in the lead in Lagos, with over 520,000 votes. Tinubu is truly a coward & overrated. Lagos State belongs to Peter Obi.

The will of Nigerians MUST prevail. ✊
APC and INEC intention is to reduce Peter Obi's winning margin in Lagos State to enable Tinubu pull off 25%.

If they had used the original results, Tinubu wouldn't get 20 in Lagos state.
LP should contest this result immediately. Nonsense. pic.twitter.com/6AoiIBaYw4
Obi overtakes Tinubu in Lagos

BREAKING NEWS: Peter Obi wins Lagos state ahead of Tinubu the Lagos landlord. As Nigerians who voted in Lagos aren’t satisfied. The rigged margin is too small compared to what we actually saw at the polls. Regardless, we’ve made a statement. Sanwo-Olu we’re coming for you next ????
