Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Godswill Akpabio has been declared the winner of the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial election by INEC

He polled a total of 115,401 votes to defeat Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem of the PDP who scored 69,838 votes.

His victory comes after another chieftain, Adams Oshiomhole was declared the winner of Edo North Senatorial District in Edo.

Oshiomhole's victory was announced by INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Adesina on Sunday, February 27 with 107,110 votes.

He defeated the incumbent Senator, Francis Alimekhena of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 55,344 votes
