Striker Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Portugal.

Osimhen was named in the 26-man squad, but he has now pulled out from the squad after picking up a knock during Napoli’s clash with Udinese at the Stadio Diego Maradona on Saturday.

The 23 year-old scored in the 3-2 win and managed to finish the game, despite picking the knock.

Osimhen has now been replaced by forward Cyriel Dessers, however, the choice of replacement comes as a surprise.

Dessers has been out the last three weeks due to an injury, before returning against Empoli last weekend.

Nonetheless, Osimhen’s absence is a blow for Nigeria and Jose Peseiro as the Forward has been in sterling form.
