One protester in Surulere has been confirmed dead after the police shot at them during their peaceful protest today, Monday, October 12.
The unidentified man who bled profusely was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet after the police officers shot indiscriminately to disperse the protesters, Channels TV said.
He was one of two protesters shot by the police.
The news of his demise was shared via the Twitter handle, @lagoseyenews1.
"This Nigerian was a gunshot, at the Surulere protest Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it."
Efforts by the medical team at the scene of the protest to resuscitate him proved abortive as he died at the scene.
Although the police are yet to confirm the incident, numerous videos have emerged showing sporadic shootings with the protesters scampering for safety.
