A disturbing video of a woman allegedly shot in the mouth has surfaced on social media platform, Twitter.
According to a tweet by a user simply known as Ibrahim Standard, the victim was shot by a mobile police officer at Salvation bus stop, Opebi road in Lagos.
Onlookers who gathered around the victim said the police officer took to his heels after the incident to avoid being nabbed. Another person was heard calling the national emergency number 112 for immediate assistance.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, couldn't immediately confirm the incident.
Her shooting comes at a time when protests have become rife over brutality by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on young Nigerians.
Over the past week, some Nigerians have taken to the street across the country in protest calling for the ban of SARS.
Popular celebrities including Tiwa Savage, Falz, Runtown and MrMacaroni have added their voices calling for the special unit to be disbanded.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has issued a directive banning personnel of the FSARS and other tactical squads of the force from routine patrols.
Be warned, the video is sensitive:
