The Federal Government has said that schools won't resume on the 4th of August or anytime soon as a result of the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Education Minister, Mr. Adamu Adamu, made this known during the recent Federal Executive Council briefing.
Adamu said that he is prepared to lose a complete school year to protect students from getting infected with COVID-19.
“Schools are not opening on August 4th or anytime soon, I don’t mind Nigeria losing a complete school year than exposing our children to danger, I think their health is more important than the examination they want to write.” - Adamu's statement read in part.
