Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has adopted Oluamachi, the boy with a beautiful singing voice in the video below.

With his singing voice, Oluamachi drew the attention of many Nigerians including a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and also former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

The boy who was found singing while hawking coconuts has now been adopted by Governor Uzodinma in celebration of Father's Day.

He wrote: "In celebration of #fathersday , I directed that little 9 year old Master Joseph Oluomachi Opara, the viral Imo State-born singer be contacted as I announce my intentions to adopt him as my own child and to undertake, personally, to sponsor him from primary school level (his current educational level) to Catholic priesthood (his career choice). Master Opara made waves in the internet at the weekend with videos of his unique rendition of some catholic hymns/songs which marked him out as a specially talented kid singer. This attracted instant applause and commendations from the public.

"I believe in harnessing skills and talents and grooming them to be of better use to mankind and to this end, I directed that the family, through the Imo State commissioner for information, Hon. Declan Emelumba be informed of my intention to adopt their son as my own child and to personally take over the full responsibility of his training until he becomes a Reverend Father, which he said is his life ambition.

"It my expectation and prayer that little Oluoma attains his full potentials in God's time.

"God bless Imo State".

A boy has captivated the heart of former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode with his beautiful singing voice. . The boy, a hawker apparently from Southeast Nigeria, can be seen in the video below singing and praising God despite his poor condition. . This amazed Femi Fani-Kayode who asked for his contact so he could help him. . He wrote: "It is enchanting. I simply cannot believe that this young boy has such an extraordinary voice & that he is singing such beautiful songs of praise to the Lord. Does anyone know his name & can anyone trace him? He is singing in Igbo so I assume he is in the south-east. . "Once I can confirm his identity and reach his family I will send 250,000 naira to him and pay for his school fees right up until university level. I urge others to help him too. This talented, gifted and blessed child should NOT be hawking and selling things in the streets. I wish I knew what state he comes from and who his Governor is. Such talent must not be wasted. . "For the first time in days I have something to smile and be happy about. Despite his circumstances this boy is still praising God in such a beautiful way. He has brought tears of joy to my eyes. . "The Lord is faithful and He will never abandon or forsake this little boy that sings songs of praise to him whilst selling coconuts on the street!"
