The Nigerian Police Force are in search of a young man, Babatunde Adeyeye, who appeared in a video showing him kissing a little girl.
The video which went viral sparked outrage from Nigerians who described his action as child molestation. They also called for his arrest on suspicion that he's a pedophile.
Adeyeye has now apologized to Nigerians and also revealed that the little girl is his sister.
He shared a video in which he said, "I'm really sorry for what happened between I and my sister. I never knew it will go viral to this extent. What really happened is that I just did the video due to the likeness or the relationship between and I and my sister.
"I'm really sorry Nigerians. All I'm pleading for right now is for it die down. I promise it won't happen again".
A woman who appears to be the mother of the girl pleaded with Nigerians saying, "Don't be offended. It was all a play to them".
Adeyeye's apology didn't deter the police from urging persons with information on how to locate him to come forward.
"Anyone with useful information (e.g Name, Phone number, Location or Address) of the man in the picture below should kindly reach out to us via DM or call 08057000001. Protection of your Identity is guaranteed, Thank you", the force tweeted.
