Rape victims have taken to social media to share their experience in reaction to the news of the death of a UNIBEN student who was beaten to death after she was raped.
Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100 level student of Microbiology, was raped and bashed with a fire extinguisher in the head by unknown men.
She was found in serious condition inside a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Edo State where she had gone to read at night.
The news of her death has sparked outrage on social media with many calling for justice and the arrest of the perpetrators.
Some ladies who have suffered at the hands of rapists also took to social media to share a bit of their experience.
A tweeted that a few months after she was raped, she suffered trauma and couldn't tell anyone about it.
Another lady, who thought being fully clothed in hijab could never expose a lady to rape was shocked when she was raped with her hijab on.
She tweeted to debunk the claim that indecent dressing on the part of ladies is the reason why they are raped.
She tweeted: “'Dress properly'. 'Thank God Islam gave us hijab'. Don’t be stupid! I had my hijab on all through when I was raped".
She added: "In the past 12 hours, I've heard that "the hijab is sexy", "you're not wearing the right hijab", "if it's the type in your DP you were raped in, I can see your curves", "you people don't wear pant under it". I'm STILL NOT COVERED ENOUGH!".

"Thank God Islam gave us hijab"
Don't be stupid!
I had my hijab on all through when I was raped.
I slapped a 400l Male when I was in 200l because he locked me up in a class in the middle of the night. I didn't slap him because I had anger issues like everyone painted. I slapped him because the last time a guy locked me up, I was raped.
