President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari has declared his stand regarding the use of herbal medicines as a cure for COVID-19.

This is coming after the President received the Madagascan native formulation against the COVID–19 pandemic, at the State House, Abuja on Saturday.

Buhari promised to listen to science before allowing traditional or any new medicines to be administered on Nigerians.

My position regarding all herbal or traditional medicines is that any such formulations should be sent to the statutory regulators for thorough scientific verification. We will not put anything to use in Nigeria without the endorsement of our regulatory institutions.

He also met with President Umaro Embalo of Guinea Bissau who paid Buhari a visit after winning the general elections won in his country.
