After over a week in the hands of kidnappers, Islamic cleric who resides in Oyo State, Taofeeq Akeugbagold's twins have regained freedom.

The cleric made the announcement of their release in a Facebook post on Sunday morning.

The children were released on Sunday at 05:30am after eight days in their abductor’s net, according to Akeugbagold.

He wrote, “ALHAMDULILLAH! AT 5.30AM OF SUNDAY 3RD MAY, MY ABDUCTED TWIN KIDS ARE RELEASED TO ME BESIDE A BUSH AFTER 8DAYS IN AN UNKNOWN LAND. THANKS TO U ALL FOR FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT, JAZAKUMULLAHU KHAIRAN. ABERE MI BO SINU OKUN, OLOUN YO PADA FUN MI.”
