A recent poll by NOIpolls has exposed the alarming rate at which Nigerians engage in sexual intercourse without the use of condoms.
The survey, a joint effort of NOIpolls and the National Agency for the Control of AIDS and AIDS Healthcare Foundation, was conducted in the week of the 27th of January where a total of 1,000 respondents were sampled.
Speaking to newsmen about the findings of the survey, CEO of NOIpolls, Dr Chike Nwangwu, revealed that only 34 per cent of Nigerians make use of condoms during sex.
That means that a total of 66 per cent Nigerians do not use condoms during sex.
Dr Nwangwu added that of the lot (34 per cent) who make use condoms, 31 per cent use it for family planning, tying with another 32 per cent that use it to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
He added that only 26 per cent revealed that they use it for protection against STIs.
