The popular Balogun Market located on Lagos Island is currently on fire.
A video posted on social media shows a building by the market in thick smoke as traders make efforts to salvage their goods from getting burnt.
According to Twitter user @the_chukwuebuka, the fire started from the building opposite Oluwole Car Park on Martins Street.
The cause of the inferno is yet to be determined as members of the Lagos firefighters are currently trying to control the fire.
Balogun market becomes the second to be gutted by fire in Lagos within the space of a week after the popular Amu market in Mushin was gutted very early on Saturday.
