Students of Obafemi Awolowo University have asked the management to sack randy lecturer, Bisi Olaleye for sexually harassing a final year student of the department of International Relations, Motunrayo Afolayan.

In a series of separate tweet threads fronted by the students as well as help from famed BBC Journalist, Kiki Mordi, they have demanded that Olaleye's employment be terminated.

Judging from tweets made by Karimot Odebode and reports credited to The Nation, MyNigeria gathered that Afolayan, a 400- level student of International Relations, failed a Diplomacy course (IRS 305) in the 2017/2018 academic session while she was in 300-level. She registered the course for the 2018/2019 session but said the lecturer threatened to fail her if she refused to sleep with him.

To make matters worse, he moved the timetable of IRS 305, (the course she was to retake) to the same date and hour with her 400 level course. Afolayan kept pleading with him to change his mind by organising periodic visits to his office but he refused to change his mind.

Once, Motunrayo recorded the conversation which went thus: "‘I promise you will fail this course three times if you refuse to sleep with me."
However, Motunrayo passed when the result was released, but she had reported to the school’s Centre for Gender and Policy Studies.
The school’s spokesman, Abiodun Olarewaju, said the incident happened last year and a panel was set up to investigate. Due to his behaviour, he was placed on half salary.

Reacting to the incident, Final Year students of the department decided to solidarize and collectively seek justice for Motunrayo by writing the management.
"We are prepared to take this to whatever length it will be taken to. This is the era of Social Media and if the Management is not ready to speak up, the WE WILL. We will flood Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, " the post read.
