Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo in naming the three most impressive players he has coached as a manager.

After two seasons at Castilla, Zizou was entrusted with the huge responsibility of handling the Los Blancos first team — an opportunity he seized with aplomb.

The Frenchman won a record three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid in his first spell, with Cristiano Ronaldo playing a crucial role in all three campaigns.

The Portuguese international registered 112 goals and 30 assists in 114 appearances across all competitions.

Despite these staggering numbers, Zidane did not include the five-time Ballon d'Or winner on his list of three players who impressed him during his spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“When you see [Toni] Kroos, [Luka] Modric, and [Karim] Benzema playing for you for an hour without losing a single ball, that is football,” Zidane told Canal+ as quoted by SportBIBLE.
