The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has eased tension among corps members by announcing the commencement of a minimum wage of N77,000.
Speaking during the commissioning of a staff bus in Abuja, Ahmed assured corps members that they would begin receiving the increased allowance.
The DG explained that arrangements for corps members' to receive their N77, 000 have been finalised.
He stated that his priority for 2025 was the welfare and security of the corps members, ensuring that all their benefits would be provided.
Recall that following the government’s announcement to increase the salaries of the corps members, there was a significant reaction after they raised concerns about not receiving the increased allowance.
